As a teenager, Michael surrounded himself with friends with similar musical interests, exposing him to a whole new realm of musical expression aside from singing or being part of a band. Being the “the Black sheep” of the family, this sparked the drive for Michael to become more versatile with his choices of music, resulting in his ability to read and move a crowd. At sixteen years old, Michael joined MIM (Musique in Motion). The group was made up of close friends who helped him to find his stage name and style. VReal (formally known as DJ Spazz) was created. In the 1990’s, after a short time with Musique in Motion, VReal joined the DJ group Legend Entertainment. As a part of Legend Entertainment, Michael had the opportunity to open for DJ Icy Ice of Legend Entertainment, DJ Qbert, and The World Famous Beat Junkies, which elevated his DJ abilities. DJ Icy Ice, DJ Qbert, DJ AM, DJ Big Dude, Nicky Z, and DJ Loczi are among other influences that have propelled VReal to be the DJ he is today.
VReal has worked in night clubs and bars around San Diego’s Gaslamp District, Downtown Los Angeles and Las Vegas. In 2010, he was blessed to have had the opportunity to tour the East Coast where he got to spin at the Shrine in the MGM Grand Foxwoods and at The Pool at Harrah’s Atlantic City. VReal also has experience as a sound and lighting technician for live bands. Currently, he works with Legend Entertainment, Limitless Musik and RCN Entertainment. VReal has held residencies at Typhoon Saloon in Pacific Beach in San Diego, Boar’s Cross’n in Downtown Carlsbad, Aloha J’s and Iron Wok in Temecula, The Arena in Hollywood, Sevilla Night Club and Wokano in Long Beach California, The Sports Stop Bar and Grill in Canyon Lake, Silk the Club & The Cabaret Lounge at Pechanga Resort and Casino, and The Cathouse (Luxor) in Las Vegas, Nevada. VReal spins the hottest dance, trance, techno and hip-hop for the elite party crowd anywhere in the West Coast. Because of his talents, VReal has had the opportunity to open for artists such as Naughty by Nature, Travis McCoy, Far East Movement, LMFAO, Swayze & Cisco Adler, Steve Angello, Gary Pine, Bad Boy Bill and Paul Oakenforld.
